Cabot Learning Federation tasked us as main contractor to carry out the refurbishment of a toilet block at Kings Oak Academy.
The strip out the existing mechanical and electrical installation, flooring, Walls coverings including tiles and wall cladding, demolition of load bearing block walls and the introduction of steelwork to create an open plan lobby area.
New below ground drainage was installed due to the change in layout.
We then installed new ceilings, partitions, doors, flooring, hygienic wall cladding, IPS, wash troughs and decorated the area.
Electrical installation including small power, new recessed LED lighting with PIR sensors, fire alarms and a new distribution board.
The Mechanical installation included new hot and cold water, sanitaryware and ventilation for each toilet.
Key challenges and outcome
To complete the project within the tight programme. The project was finish on time and within budget. Unknown items like drainage positions and structural requirements which needed to be agreed once demolition had been completed.
