Castle School Education Trust (CSET), tasked us as main contractor to manage the removal of Asbestos, ceilings and lighting followed by the installation of new ceilings and Electrical installation's including a new distribution board in the sports hall changing rooms and ancillary areas at Marlwood School.
The strip out the existing electrical installation and ceiling tiles and grid to allow the Asbestos AIB to be removed by a specialist asbestos removal company. The asbestos was removed in two phases. Following installation of the airlock and containment of the working area, the ground floor was completed, removed and air tested. The containment was moved and sealed to allow the first floor to be completed. The area was cleaned and tested before further works could progress.
A complete electrical installation was carried out including small power, mains switch panel and new LED lighting. In conjunction with the electrical installation a new fire detection system was installed.
New ceilings were installed throughout including in the changing / shower rooms, office's, halls and stairwells.
Managing the removal of Asbestos in a safe manner and in accordance with the Control of Asbestos regs 2012. The project was finish on time and within budget.
